Having fun while learning...

What do you get when you mix some LEGOS, motors, computer programs, lemonade, popcorn, left over Halloween candy, five active girls, and six tired parents?

The LEGO Mountaineers!!

This is my first blog entry, and I mainly wanted to share the fun we have all been having from a parent's perspective.

This is our third year as a group, and the transformation in the girls' self confidence has stood out to me the most.  We started out with a team that was quite leery about presenting anything to a panel of judges, to a group of girls that is quite confident to face their first scrimmage for the season.   This confidence does not come with an attitude, though.  When we are at the scrimmages, they are quite willing to reach out and help or encourage other teams.  I am so very proud of them.

The gilrs have built a good, reliable robot this year, and they have an excellent presentation planned; I think they will do well.
