A Nice Surprise For Our First Competition
This last week was our first competition. Although my mother had sent out invitations inviting people to come watch, we weren't really sure if anyone would come. Thus it was a nice surprise when my grandfather, his friend, and my aunt Royce came to cheer us on. They were also some of our sponsors, so it meant a lot to us that they came.
Another unexpected surprise was that our AWANA leader came as well. Our whole family is involved in the AWANA program, which is a great way to memorize Bible verses, learn more about the Bible, and fellowship with other kids. We had just mentioned it briefly to Mr. Jones, our leader, and were unaware that he was interested in coming. My mother apparently sent him the directions and times and he came to cheer us on.
I just want to say a BIG thank you to everyone who came to watch us on. It really encouraged us and lifted our spirits. THANK YOU!
