Major Brain Freeze!
20060821022.jpgToday Amy and I worked for six hours straight on the LEGO robot, going through the remaining tutorials, building our new robot, and troubleshooting various problems.  We have found it very difficult to attach motors and wheels to our robot, while making it stronger.  Our robot turned out totally different than expected, both wider and taller than our previous robots.  Normally this would not be acceptable because of the narrow spaces we would have to squeeze through to complete our missions.  Fortunately, this years missions are spread out all over the table, leaving a somewhat wide and clear passageway.  We have not yet determined if this is our official robot, and will not until we start programming,  so we may need to rebuild or modify it to meet our needs.

Our team decided to use the light sensor and the ultrasonic sensor for our robot.  However, we decided to put the ultrasonic sensor more underneath the robot to ensure that the beam doesn't go over the sides of the playing field and obstruct our mission.  It was undecided whether or not we will use the touch sensor, although I am encouraged at its increased precision.
We have one day left until my dad comes back from a business trip and we will show him what we have done.  Later this evening we will continue our research on nanotechnology.  I hope to have mostly completed the research by tomorrow.

Later Amy and I will continue our work, but right now I have to find a way to unfreeze my brain.
