Okay, We’re Nervous
As the state competition draws nearer our team becomes busier.  We have spent the past few days testing, practicing, rehearsing, and so forth.  So, are we nervous?  Not the LEGO Mountaineers!  (Well, maybe a little)

We have de-bugged our robot to the best of our ability and improved our strategy.  Amy built an attachment for the dirt trap that directs the dust into it.  During a perfect match, we have flawlessly been able to get the full 75 points for the mission.

Our team has decided on a new competition strategy.  Because each of us has a strength on the field we will rotate team members in to complete each mission.  With this strategy we were able to get well over 230 points consistently, and once we even got 275.

I am so excited about our upcoming competition.  Tomorrow will be one of our last days to drill.

This looks like it is going to be the best year ever for the LEGO Mountaineers!

Wow, kewl (Michael Sampson) 1

Indeed, you have much to be proud of. Thanks for the update.

No Mother Could be More Proud (Kathy Mack) 2

Michael, the team ended their 2006 season by competing at the state finals in Clovis, California. While a trophy eluded them at this event, they have never given a better presentation in the five years they've competed. The robot was consistent in its performance, and scored in the 250's. Their presentation of the research project to the judges went extremely well. All the way around, they excelled, were kind and helpful to other teams, and exhibited gracious professionalism. This season, they earned two "Best Robot Design" awards, and a "Best Teamwork Award". I am so proud of them, I could burst!

So, how’d it go? (Michael Sampson) 3

C'mon, I'm dying down here ... how did it you go at the State competition?
