Thank you NXT!
For those of you who don't know what NXT is, NXT is MINDSTORMS newest addition to their LEGO parts. The NXT is a LEGO brick that is several times more capable of running missions accurately than the RCX. As a bonus, the NXT motors are designed with stepper motors and rotation sensors built in so that they are more accurate in measuring distance. But NXT doesn't stop there, the sensors that we use to detect objects are more precise and they have more of a variety.

Before, we were limited to only three different kinds of sensors, now, however, we have five to choose from including the Ultrasonic sensor and the sound sensor.
Wendy and I have been experimenting with the NXT to see if it is better for us to use in the competition. So far, we are liking it, but we have found at least one glitch. It seems to e a little difficult and time consuming to navigate to the different programs. We hope, however, to find some solution to this problem. Nevertheless, the NXT is a powerful unit that I hope to learn more about.
