Today has been a busy day!

Today, we took apart the already built robots and picked one from the book. Then we taught Emily and Kelly how to build a robot. We separated into teams, Emily and Wendy on one and Kelly and I on the other, and each built our own robot. This was a lesson in patience and it also taught them how to read the instructions and measurements. Often today, I was reminded of the time I built my first LEGO robot. That was exciting! I hope Emily and Kelly got the same experience that I did.

The neat thing about LEGO Robotics is that it doesn't matter how old you are (Although you do have to be a certain age to compete) to build a robot.

Besides building the robots we also practiced our programming, planned our budget, began writing to our possible sponsors, researched the schedule, researched the cost, learned how to write a flowchart, and learned about gears. That's a lot!

One thing that has been beneficial to us is the GTD method. We talked Emily and Kelly through planning our next action. It sped us on our way. As much as we accomplished today, there is still a lot left to do.
