We did it! We won the Director’s Award!
thumb20041119 - 015.jpg The evening ran late, and we were very tired by the time the awards ceremony started.  We were elated when they called us to receive the Performance Award.  The Performance Award was given to us because our robot performed consistently well throughout the competition. Imagine our surprise when they called us back up again to receive the Director's Award! For those who do not know, the Director's Award is the highest award to achieve.  Only one team can win it by doing well in everything - their robot's performance, team spirit, their research presentation, their technical presentation, and their presence in the pit.

I know from your blog and talking to Eric just how much hard work went into it, and I'm really pleased it has paid off so well for you. Keep it up for the next competition!

Heard the news about your big win from your coach's web log and wanted to post my congratulations!!!

It must be really great to see all the time and effort you invested pay off. It sounds like you learned a lot and had a lot of fun doing it.

My son is only six (so a few years from building any robots himself), but when I told him about your competition he thought it was the coolest!

Congratulations again,

- Jim
